Only pic of Sea of Galilee (where jimmy walked on water) is he last one. Top photos are of a beautiful mineral springs nearby in Gan Hashloshim. Water 28 degrees year round. Old ruins are in a town called Beit She'an- nice amphitheatre. Some world cup soccer action in our hostel. Wine tasting and making marzipan at Kfar Tabor - kibbutz at the foot of Mount Tabor.
Three cheers for the Youth Hostel system in Israel! Family of 5 stays for $150/night including breakfast, in very spacious and very clean surroundings with the benefit of meeting all the interesting groups that come through. 1st semi-final World Cup watched with Dutch mob who are here on a new excavation on the hill across the road. You practically can't walk here without kicking up some pottery. The Roman ruins in Beit She-an are impressive but only uncovered in the early 1990s! and they reckon 18 cities were built under the present day town. Hard to get the head around just how many different types of people have been through here, over how many hundreds and thousands of years. That being said, I feel ruins fatigue coming on. It's like backpacking through Europe - eventually you have to go on a cathedral / art museum strike.
